Lexington Elementary School Counseling
Our mission for the students at Lexington Elementary School is to provide all students with a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program. Our program is centered around a caring, creative, and collaborative learning environment. Advocacy is our primary role in order that we may ensure the life-long learning success of our students and help them develop International Baccalaureate attributes and attitudes of responsible citizens in a global society.
Friendly Helpers
Students in grades 1st-5th are eligible to become “Friendly Helpers” in order to help build leadership skills and a sense of community. These student helpers are trained by the school counselors to assist with delivering Snack Packs and welcoming our new students.
Snack Pack Friendly Helpers were chosen by Quest Zone since those students stay after school. On Thursdays, the Snack Pack Friendly Helpers distribute all the weekend Snack Packs to the classrooms after school so they can go home on Fridays.
The New Student Friendly Helpers will be selected by their teachers. One boy and one girl from each homeroom in grades 2nd - 5th will be nominated to help whenever a new student arrives in their class. These students will be a new student's first friend and help them orient to their new school.
